TAV is a technology which enables you to communicate your availability in real time to our Project Managers. It allows us to see when you are online and ready to be considered for new translation jobs. TAV also informs you with a pop-up message when a new job was sent to your inbox.
By simply clicking on the TAV icon (right mouse click for macOS) you can change your availability status from “Green” (you are immediately available to consider a job) to “Red” (you are busy, on holiday or simply do not want additional work), and back.
But that's not all the tool has to offer. With a right mouse click on the TAV a drop-down menu will appear offering additional possibilities:
TAV runs in the background on your PC or MAC. You can easily recognize the TAV as the small icon in the “system tray” in the lower right (Windows) or top right (macOS) of your screen.
When you are connected to the Internet, TAV sends us a signal every few minutes telling us if you are available for work. It uses the same internet communication command that your internet browser uses when browsing the web, so you do not need any special communication software.
In order to install TAV, please follow the instructions below for your OS.
If you work with Windows, download the TAV.exe file to your desktop and double click on it and follow the Installation Wizard. If you work with macOS, download the TAV.dmg file to your desktop, double click on it and drag the TAV icon to the Applications folder.
After the successful installation, a login window will appear. To access the TAV, you just log in with the same username and password you use to log in to your online translator profile.
If you encounter any technical problems with the installation of TAV, please consult our Help center or contact: community@translated.com.
