New Investment to Expedite Translation AI Integration into Business Workflows

Rome – December 11, 2024

Translated, a global leader in AI-first localization solutions, and Humans.tech, a pioneering company specializing in AI-powered intelligent interfaces, have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the development of Translated's AI models and expand their applications beyond localization to meet the evolving needs of a global audience.

This collaboration will enable Translated’s customers to benefit from faster and more seamless integration of its cutting-edge technologies, including Lara, its revolutionary AI architecture for translation. By accelerating go-to-market processes, businesses will experience shorter implementation timelines and greater operational efficiency. Simultaneously, Humans.tech will gain direct access to Translated’s proprietary AI models, allowing them to extend these innovations to new contexts and industries. This synergy promises to bring a transformative edge to both companies, driving enhanced productivity and adaptability for clients in diverse sectors.

As part of the collaboration, Translated has acquired a 40% stake in Humans.tech, with the option to increase its stake to 51%. This partnership allows Translated to tap into the expertise of over 60 skilled software engineers at Humans.tech, with plans to hire additional engineers in 2025.

"I see in the Humans.tech team the same ambition that inspired Isabelle and I to found Translated. Together, we want to merge human creativity with artificial intelligence to deliver breakthrough solutions that meet the evolving needs of global businesses. This collaboration will accelerate the transition to AI-first localization workflows for our customers, while enabling them to develop custom AI interfaces for challenges in localization and beyond."
Marco Trombetti – founder and CEO of Translated

The collaboration builds on Translated's extensive experience with the Transformer, the core generative AI technology first introduced for translation and commercially pioneered by Translated through ModernMT and now Lara. As enterprise adoption of generative AI accelerates, the demand for customized solutions has skyrocketed. In recent months, numerous clients have sought Translated's assistance in developing custom AI models that leverage the company's deep Transformer expertise.

Global data and intelligence platform, Statista, suggests global spending on generative AI-based solutions is expected to grow at a CAGR of 46% over the next six years, reaching $356 billion by 2030. McKinsey predicts that by 2027, more than half of enterprise generative AI models will be tailored to specific industries or functions, up from just 1% in 2023. Additionally, Gartner predicts that at least 15% of daily work decisions will be made autonomously by agentic AI within the next four years, up from virtually 0% today.

Humans.tech's intelligent interfaces redefine traditional conversational AI by providing goal-driven solutions that create deep, productive human-machine interactions. The company was formed a year ago through the merger of two long-time Translated partners. It combines the energy of multidisciplinary teams, the innovation of scale-ups, and the rich cross-industry expertise of its members.

"This collaboration enables us to create more human, intuitive and results-driven superintelligence solutions. By enhancing traditional conversational AI with greater contextual understanding, emotional intelligence, and adaptability to complex user needs, we aim to build deeper, more productive connections between users and services. This is consistent with the human-machine symbiosis model that Translated has pioneered in translation and will allow us to extend it to other scenarios."
Mario De Sanctis – CEO of Humans.tech
