Remarkable Success for Translated 9 at Pacific Cup 2024

Demonstrating excellence and resilience, Translated 9 placed 1st in its category and 4th overall with a team made up mostly of people from the localization and tech communities.

Kaneohe, Hawaii - July 27, 2024

We are pleased to announce that our sailboat Translated 9 achieved remarkable success in the Pacific Cup 2024. Competing against 64 yachts, Translated 9 took first place in its category (PHRF 4 class) and secured fourth place overall.

The crew of 11, selected from more than 700 people trained by our ambassador Paul Cayard in the San Francisco Bay, embarked on this challenging 2,000-nautical-mile race exemplifying the values of passion, commitment and teamwork.

Translated 9's success is rooted in our belief in the power of community and the relentless pursuit of our dreams. This journey isn't just about reaching a destination; it's about growing through every challenge we face. We will continue to expand this project by creating spaces where people can face challenges, learn from them, and emerge stronger. We want to inspire and be inspired, fostering growth through courage, positive thinking and a never-give-up attitude. Together, we sail forward with courage and optimism, building a better future.
Marco Trombetti – Translated's CEO

The Pacific Cup, founded in 1980, is one of the most renowned ocean races in the United States. Known for its challenging conditions and the camaraderie it fosters, it offered a perfect stage for Translated 9 to demonstrate our core values of courage, teamwork, and resilience.

Our motto “We believe in humans” means we believe in people who take on challenges that are a little bigger than anyone thinks possible, who embrace change with courage and without fear, and who build a better future for all.

The adventure of Translated 9 does not end here. Translated’s vision is to surround itself with extraordinary people capable of going beyond their limits, with whom we can face ever greater challenges that others deem impossible. We have many ideas for the future of this project, and new ocean sailing training sessions with Paul Cayard are already scheduled for the fall season in San Francisco.

A big part of this is the people involved. I feel really blessed to be with folks that I can learn from. Translated has allowed that experience for me, and I'm very grateful.
